Christmas Donations

A Christmas Blessing

For many years The Salvation Army offered food hampers to our families. Sometimes the hamper was sponsored and filled by a business, church or local family. The contents included items for Christmas dinner, presents for children and a few items for adults. In 2015 The Salvation Army moved away from the model believing that allowing our families choices was most important. Families now receive a gift card to purchase food. Some will buy a Christmas turkey while others will stretch the funds for a week’s worth of food. Families walk through our Toy Depot and choose the gifts that best suit their children’s needs and wants—no surprises or disappointments. And the feedback proves it was the correct decision. Our families love making their own decisions, finding the perfect gift and deciding to have lasagne for Christmas dinner.

Christmas Catalogue

Looking for a way for change the lives of a family at Christmas? We have created the perfect Christmas Catalogue—it is a guide to what your donation will buy for our families. The focus of the catalogue is Fun, Family and Food. Fun is the children’s section—toys and stuff kids would love. Family is the section of group presents like board games and puzzles. And food is the section for the dollar amount each gift card provides. We will use your donations to ensure our families have a very special Christmas.

Donation Timing

Christmas is just around the corner and our Toy Depot is being set up. We love it when we receive donations of presents for our families. In December our store will be open for our families to shop. It will be full of games, toys, pajamas, books and even bicycles. Want to make Christmas spectacular for our families? Please bring your donations before December. We do not want anyone to be disappointed by the toy store being empty. Your generosity changes lives in our community.
