Giving Families a Blessing of Hope During the Christmas Season

We LOVE Christmas, but we also recognize that this Christmas will be very different. The impacts of COVID-19 have been far reaching and have changed our processes for this year.

NEW THIS YEAR:
You can register for our Sharing Christmas program by completing the on-line form (here). Once submitted, you will need to EMAIL pictures of the required documentation to christmas@kelsa.ca for your registration to be confirmed.

Don’t have access to a computer, or not sure how to send your documents, no problem… just give us a call at 250.765.3450 Option 7 and we would be happy to assist you either over the phone or will make an in-person appointment for you.

Registration will OPEN on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020 until Monday, Nov. 30, 2020PLEASE REGISTER EARLY as we are anticipating an increase in need for this season.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
After registration, each family will be provided with a pick-up day and time. PLEASE NOTE that only one (1) family member will be able to pick up the Christmas Blessing and guests must wear a mask when entering the building (one will be provided if you do not have one).

Each family will be provided with a food gift card (appropriate to the size of family) so that they can select the food that they would like for their Christmas dinner. Toys will then be selected for each child from the toy depot. PLEASE NOTE that there will be strict limitations on the number of people permitted in the depot; only volunteers will handle (touch) the product; and sanitization measures will occur throughout each day.

HOW YOU CAN HELP!
There are many ways to be involved and help OUR community over the Christmas season. We are in need of Bell-Ringers for the Christmas Kettle Campaign (with new safety and sanitization measures required); support the various Christmas events that will take place (CLICK HERE for the calendar of events) AND you can raise funds for The Salvation Army by hosting you own VIRTUAL KETTLE on your social media / web page (go to www.FillTheKettle.com for more information).

In 2019, we assisted 526 local families through the Sharing Christmas Food & Toy Program – of which 1021 children received new toys all because of the generosity of OUR community. We could not do what we do without YOU!

If you would like to donate to our Christmas Blessing Program, learn more here.

If you would like to be involved this upcoming season, contact our Volunteer Coordinator at 250.860.2329 ext. 105 or email volunteer@kelsa.ca.
